Student Biography

 

Iman Al Jashmi was born in Virginia State, but raised with her family in Oman. After graduation from high school, Iman got a scholarship from the ministry of higher education in Oman to study abroad in the United State of America.

 

Iman is currently in her 5th year of study in the Architectural Engineering Program at Penn State University. In May 2015, she will graduate with  Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree from the Lighting/Electrical option. Iman is currently a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society. She was also a public relation of Omani Student Association on campus for the last three years. 
 

During the past three summers, Iman took three internships. two of the internships were with Atkins company (summer 2012)worked as architect and  as a lighting desinger (summer 2013). In Summer2014 iman joined SSH Design to intern as a lighting designer and interior designer. Moreover, Iman had a great experince studying abroad with the Penn State AE Sede di Roma program. 

 

Outside of academics, Iman was invoved in several charity  events in Oman.

she volnteered in four different summer camps as a teacher. After Penn State she is looking forward to work with big designing firm and then own a business in lighting industry in the future.
